Only tools with at least 3,000 Wikipedia views a week are ranked (small pages jump around).
Sources: Wikimedia pageviews (English Wikipedia, people not bots) and Hacker News search (Algolia). A rise in interest isn't
an endorsement: news, outages and controversies drive views too.
Which AI tools people are suddenly looking up. Ranked by extra people: how many more people
looked each tool up on English Wikipedia from a phone in the last 7 days than in the 7 days before, with the
percent change next to it. We count phones only because robots that Wikipedia misses mostly open the normal
desktop site, so desktop numbers can jump for no human reason. Hacker News mentions show how much the tech crowd
is talking about it.
Fastest-rising AI tools, week of November 2, 2026: ChatGPT leads (+24,673 people)
The AI tools the most extra people looked up this week: ChatGPT (+24,673 people, +14%), Claude (+3,859 people, +27%) and Character.AI (+1,186 people, +22%), measured by English Wikipedia visits from phones over the last 7 days compared with the 7 days before. 12 of the 17 tools we rank got more phone visits than the week before.
The most looked-up overall: ChatGPT (929,686 views), Claude (58,769 views) and Gemini (28,557 views).
On Hacker News, where developers discuss tech, the biggest jump in mentions was for Gemini (+82%, 371 mentions), Qwen (+30%, 178 mentions) and ChatGPT (+21%, 382 mentions).
Cooling off: Suno (-266 people, -14%), Grok (-257 people, -4%) and NotebookLM (-80 people, -10%).
New in the top 10 this week: Claude, Character.AI, Gemini, Qwen and Ollama.
How we count: we compare English Wikipedia visits from phones for each tool's page. Phones only, because robots that Wikipedia misses mostly open the normal desktop site. We rank only tools with at least 3,000 views a week, and count Hacker News posts and comments that mention it. A rise in interest isn't an endorsement: news, outages and controversies drive views too.
